Avatar is selling like craaaaaaaaazy!!!!

Ever since its release on the same day as Earth Day on April 22, 2010, the movie has been doing extremely well in sales all over the globe.

It has become the fastest selling Blu-ray, selling 2.7 million copies and 6.7 million have been purchased altogether!!

The Dark Knight, was the previous record holder for the fastest selling Blu-ray with 2.5 million copies in 18 months where Avatar only took days to sell 2.7 million.

Word on the street is a 3D version is set to hit Blu-ray early next year and the people behind the movie just want to wait until more households own the 3D equipment. Additional special features will be included with the 3D release, how exciting!

So have you gotten your copy of Avatar or are you willing to wait until next year for the 3D version?

Here I go again with my little Twilight obsession, lol!

But I am literally counting down the days Eclipse comes out (2 months and 3 days - to be exact) and I am so excited that it's coming out on IMAX (that means bigger Edward and Bigger Jacob-so exciting).

My birthday falls in around that time (June 26) so I plan on scheduling watching this movie into my birthday festivities, ha ha!

Gleeful about the return of Glee!

Glee is back with a bang!

I PVR'd the show last night and couldn't wait until I got home so I can finally watch my favourite show of this year.

Fox super mega hit show brought in soaring numbers, beating the pilot episode that aired almost a year ago.

Last night's episode had 13.6 million viewers which is 44% bigger and better than the pilot episode where the show became a hit with their remake of Journey's Don't Stop Believing.

Tiger still sexting? I mean texting

Which homewrecker do you think Tiger is texting in the picture above?

This picture was taken at Augusta National today and maybe Tiger might wanna lay off being pictured with his cell phone out.

But, I do think a good amount of time has passed though and people are beginning to get sick of the whole Tiger controversy.

He even had a press conference yesterday and from what I've been hearing from those who watched it, there wasn't much to say since it was pretty boring and dull.

Its a good think I didn't waste my time watching it.

Anyways, the real explanation for the picture above was Tiger was recording fellow golfer Mark O'Meara so they could analyze his technique.

lol.

I have an inkling that Tiger's people were quick to give an explanation once they saw this picture taken.

Smart, smart PR people.

Oh well, I'm pretty sick of Tiger anyway. Lets all move on!

YES.. It's finally Cancelled

What am I talkin' about exactly.....The Hills!

No more Heidi and Spencer, no more Justin Bobby drama, and no more FAKENESS!!

After 6 years of drama, it was announced this morning that the show will be coming to an end by the end of this season.

Creator Adam DiVello says, the kids of The Hills have found themselves and are ready to move on (Thank God).

"A lot of these kids have found themselves and have certainly embarked on different careers and different paths."

I have to admit, I use to watch this garbage, oops I mean show, and was warped by the lives of these people until the hardcore fake drama started happening, I just couldn't bare watching it anymore.

Hopefully, once this show disappears, so will speidi, the most annoying couple in the world!

BAH! AVATAR got robbed!

I am not a big fan of movies like Avatar, but with all the hype I decided to watch it and seriously FELL IN LOVE!

When it comes to movies like The Hurt Locker, which won for Best Picture (Yes, Avatar got robbed), I had actually watched The Hurt Locker without realizing I was watching The Hurt Locker and I think I dozed in and out during the movie.

It may just be me, but totally thought that Avatar was going to be have a clean sweep at the Oscars. Oh well they still won in Art Direction, Cinematography , and of course Visual Effects.

But I do like how The Hurt Locker proved that you don't have to have a high budget/grossing film with spectacular effects and exquisite visuals to win an Oscar.

Then again, both "Star Wars" and "ET" lost to, "Annie Hall" and "Ghandi," respectively and both movies are still highly recognized today, even without the Best Picture Oscar.

My other highlights include the following:

Hosts Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin kept me laughing!

My favourite line was when Steve Martin pointed out Helen Mirren and had said "damn Helen Mirren" where Baldwin corrected him by saying "Steve, it's Dame Helen Mirren." Hilarious!

When Sandra Bullock won for best actress for The Blind Side. She is my ultimate favourite actress of all time and I was so happy for her that she won and knew that she was very deserving of her Oscar.

All in all I thought these Oscars were pretty good and I loved how a lot of young Hollywood came out, most notable Zac Efron and Taylor Lautner. ;P

Olympic Obsession - I Believe

I BELIEVE!!

Like many, I have been glued to my television screen due to the Olympics and since it is being held in Canada this year, I have to say, I'm pretty proud to be Canadian! With Alexandre Bilodeau's first gold medal win for Canada, the "I Believe" song (which I posted above), to Joannie Rochette's emotional skate two days after the death of her mother, these Olympics have been a whirlwind of emotions.

I've watched and followed sports that I thought I would have never enjoyed watching before and I have fallen in love with athletes because of their Olympic journey!

I am in love with these Olympics, or more obsessed with them!

I literally PVR everything and anything and make sure I don't miss any gold medal action in any sport. :)

But then again, the Olympics are not perfect by any means, but I'd have to say, those added controversies make it that more interesting!

Let me give you some examples:

Sven Kramer, Olympic speedskater who competes from the Netherlands, exploded towards an NBC reporter after she asked him to look into a camera and tell viewers who he is, what he does and so on. This offended him and responded by saying "Are you stupid?" to the reporter.

Then there is Dale Begg-Smith (pictured below, hes the angry looking one), a Canadian (who coincidently was born in Vancouver, BC) who competes for Australia. He won the silver medal in moguls behind Alexandre Bilodeau. When he first arrive in Canada, he snubbed Canadian media and only spoke with Australian reporters. His excuse was, he only does what he was told.

Kevin Smith, producer of Good Will Hunting and director of Zach and Miri make a Porno, was ejected from a Southwest Airlines plane friday because he was dubbed "too fat."

Smith said that a pilot felt that he didn't fit properly on the seat and he needed to be removed from the flight or buy another seat.

After this incident happened, Smith took to his Twitter page and said, "I'm way fat, but I'm not there just yet," and "If you look like me, you may be ejected from Southwest Air." Also posting the picture above with his tweet.

Yesterday, Smith and Southwest Airlines spokesperson, Linda Rutherford, traded words through blogging and this is what each party had to say...

SWA:

"I (Linda) had the chance this afternoon to speak directly with director Kevin Smith. I let him know that in my 18 years here at Southwest, I have never dealt with a situation like what has been unfolding in the last 48 hours. I let Kevin know we have refunded his airfare. I told him we made a mistake in trying to board him as a standby passenger and then remove him. And I told him we were sorry."

Smith:

In a post titled "My Boring A** Life," he wrote, "Linda told me that, before I got anywhere near the plane (remember: I was hoping to get on standby), they were having a space issue on board with another passenger who'd purchased two seats, and they were having a problem moving already-seated passengers to accommodate this person. Enter me, who -- Linda admitted -- WAS NOT A PROBLEM. She fully acknowledged that I wasn't bounced by the Pilot… BECAUSE THE PILOT PROBABLY DIDN'T EVEN SEE ME.

"According to Linda, with the melee surrounding boarding and finding a second seat for the other passenger, the Pilot called for a quick settlement of any outstanding issues so that they might take off. And even though I was already planted in my arm-rest lower-able, seat-belt-buckle-able seat, I got the hook."

After this, Rutherford had called Smith telling him she had posted a new blog post and wanted his opinion on it.

Rutherford said to Smith that the people seated next to him were complaining he was oversized and they were leaning away from him because he was taking a lot of room. Smith replied and said that those people were already leaning away once he got to his seat and he even asked them if he was a problem and the passengers had said no.

Smith concluded his latest blog post with this statement,

"You guys screwed up, SWA; why's it so hard to own up to it?"

"So, Linda: I appreciate the effort you made, the time you spent with me on the phone, and the work you put into this. You, too, were a reasonable cat during our conversation,"

"Southwest, I appreciate you refunding my airfare. But if you're not gonna admit I wasn't 'Too Fat To Fly,' then I'll cover it."

You know that saying, quit while you're ahead? Well Mayer isn't familiar with this at all.

In a recent interview with Playboy Magazine, Mayer just let everything out! He was racist, talked about his sexual urges, his love for porn, and his spontaneous 30 second make out session with Perez Hilton!

Wow! You ask any question, no matter how inappropriate it is, and this guy will answer it with the most ridiculously blunt answers ever.

Here are a couple excerpts from his interview courtesy of perezhilton.com,

MAYER: It depends on what I picked up. My two biggest hits are “Your Body Is a Wonderland” and “Daughters.” If you think those songs are pandering, then you’ll think I’m a douche bag. Forever 2+1=How much we'll pay you!

I have been shopping at Forever 21 for years now and I didn't find out until now how bad they actually screw over their employees.

In a PBS documentary called Made in LA, employees expose Forever 21's disgraceful treatment it has towards its employees.

The award-winning documentary follows the story of three Latina immigrants who are working in Los Angeles garment sweatshops and are on a three-year journey to win basic labour protections from the retailer, Forever 21. This documentary shows the struggles and courage each woman go through as they embark on a journey to get equal rights as employees.

One of the employees, Guadalupe Hernandez says she earned, "$4 per hour working 10 hours a day 6 days a week in a factory with no running water adn no bathroom."

Owners of the clothing business, Don-Won Chang and Jin Sook are known to be strong Christian believers and are known to discriminate employees based on religion especially if they do not follow the same beliefs as they do. However, if an employee is will to go on a Christian mission or become "born again" Christians, they promise better pay and a promotion.

How crazy is that?!?

Also, not only do they pay their employees $4 an hour in Los Angeles, they do third party contract work overseas and also put employees in even harsher sweatshop conditions.

Other retailers that have been a target of sweatshop controversy include:

"P.Diddy" Combs' Sean Jean line

There were accusations that P.Diddy's Sean Jean line relied on Honduran women, who were being paid in pennies by the hour, to sew and stitch t-shirts that s for more than $40 a piece.

P.Diddy made a public apology and said this is an important issue to him and made sure that all and any of his merchandise that had his name on it were treated fair.

The Gap

Two years ago, British newspaper, The Observer, found children who were as young as 10 years old, making Gap clothing in a sweatshop in New Delhi, India. The children said they were not being paid because they were told they were still trainees.

Gap responded quickly and said the sweatshop was being run by a subcontractor that a vendor had hired and was in violation of Gap's policies and said that all product made in sweatshops will be destroyed and will not be sold.

In Gap's policies the company requires its suppliers to guarantee they do not use child labour to make any of their clothing. They reassured the public that they have stopped working with other factories and "forcefully reiterate the prohibition on any child labor" especially in India.

Gap faced tough times after the child labour controversy and it heavily impacted its brand. Two weeks after the controversy arose Gap got on their marketing and PR wagon. They provided it's customers 30% discount vouchers, involved themselves heavily with the Product Red charity and the clothing line launched clothing and accessories with "Product Red" with celebrities supporting the cause. This slowly got Gap back up in sales.

It is either Forever 21 owners should clean up their act, or else they have a lot of marketing and public relations to do to clean up their image.

Wow. Maybe buyers (including myself) should think twice before purchasing clothing from a company like this, no matter how nice the clothes appear to be.

So, if you shop at a retailer like Forever 21, will you continue to buy clothing from them?

I'd say, NO!

90s stars comeback!

A couple of my favourite 90s TV stars are coming back to the big screen.

Former teenage actors, Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) and Joey Lawrence (Blossom) are coming back in a new ABC show called "Melissa and Joey."

Hart will star as a politician who hires a male nanny (Lawrence) or also known as a manny, to take care of her niece and nephew when her sister winds up in jail.

This new half-hour show is based on ABC Family original movie titled, My Fake Fiance, which was a rating hit for the station last year and where the two actors had stared in.

The show will hit the air later this year.

Oscars! Oscars! Read all about it!

It is an exciting day today, why?

Because the Oscar nominations came out today.

“Avatar” (Craziest movie of all time) leads the race with nine nominations and that includes best picture, best director, and best cinematography. “The Hurt Locker” also has nine nominations that include best picture, actor in a leading role and best original screenplay (but, I haven’t actually heard of this movie until now)

I would make predictions of who I think would win, but I don’t think it’s fair since I have only seen two (Avatar and The Blind Side) out of the ten movies nominated. Right?

Rather...

I would like to talk about my love for the Oscars and everything about it. I love the glitz, the glam, who’s going to be there, what they are wearing and so on. Oh and yes, I will have a post-Oscars blog!!

I remember being in Los Angeles a few years back and one of the things I really wanted to do is go to the Kodak Theatre because that is where the Oscars are held and walk the streets where the Hollywood Walk of Fame is located. When I got there, I didn’t think it would be such a long street and there were stars in areas that walking should not be permitted (aka “the Ghetto”), but I walked as far as my legs took me or it was more like, I quit after the names started being unfamiliar to me! Lol.

Cool right?!? This was actually the day before the 2007 American Idol finale, I totally wanted to watch, but my flight back home was the next day. BOO-URNS!

Joaquin Phoenix, back to normal and doing some good!

Member that crazy interview Joaquin Phoenix had with David Letterman?

If you don't, here is a little refresher....

It definitely looked like he had been living in a tree and deprived himself of bathing and forgot what personal hygiene was all about.

Well, Phoenix is back in the public (clean shaven and all) and doing some good and you'll never guess who it's with...Miley Cyrus and Liv Tyler (interesting bunch for sure).

They actually all got together to promote To Write Love on Her Arms (www.twloha.com), a non-profit dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.

I'm glad that he's back in the public eye doing good and looking good! It is definitely good for his image and take people's minds off that little crazy phase he went through last year.

According to Russell Simmons' Twitter, he ""heard tiger woods donating to send a cargo plane with a mobile hospital out there. Keep ur prayers high!" and "Tiger woods is doing something AMAZING!!!!"

Has Tiger finally come out of hiding to do some good? I hope so....

This is definitely a good start to restore his image thats for sure!

Update: According to TSN, Tiger Woods has been in sex rehab in Mississippi for the past week!

Update 2: Okay, he is apparently not in sex rehab and it was just a guy who happens to really look like Tiger Woods that was seen at the rehab centre.

Jersey Shore....High Tide Ahead

Its been called The Hills on steroids and an addiction to many!

And I would have to say, I'm one of those addicts.

So....I've been keeping up with all this Jersey Shore hoopla and I have to admit....I can't take my eyes off these "Guidos" and Guidettes."

They are absolutely addicting.....

Now I hear one of them, DJ Pauly D, is actually coming to my small city of Winnipeg, and is rumoured to be getting paid $7,500 just to make an appearance!

What?!? $7,500 to make an appearance and only being famous for using too much gel and being to tanned, I would say that is the life (NNNNOTTTT)!

They make GTL (Gym, Tanning, and Laundry) their life and partying their religion, some may want to ask who wouldn't want to be a "guido" or "guidette"?

To add to that, Snooki (the girl that got punched in the face by a drunk gym teacher) reportedly got paid $10,000 this past weekend to host a Fist Pumping Competition in Florida.

What?!

Anyways, season 1 of Jersey Shore is almost done, but don't worry peeps, Season 2 has just been confirmed so there's going to be more of this crazy drama to come!

But for now folks, if you are not already invested into this crazy drama, get addicted now!

These are my....Confessions?!?

So who remembers the group Blackstreet? because I do!

With popular songs such as "No Diggity" and Deep", Blackstreet became really popular over the 90s.

Well....after their world wind popularity in the 90s, they died down during this past couple of years and now one of them, Teddy Riley to be more specific, is in trouble.

Riley's 18-year-old daughter, Taja Riley, is accusing him of "stomping, punching and bashing" her and her sister a couple of days before Christmas.

Taja got a temporary restraining order on her dad and claimed she suffered numerous injuries that include contusions to the face, pain in the knee, and bashes on the temple.

Teddy says he never harmed any of his daughters and the only thing he is guilty of is spoiling his daughters too much!

In a statement given to TMZ, here's what he had to say,

Due to recent events, I am compelled to respond in detail to accusations made against me, by my daughters.

I love my Daughters, but I will not allow my children to disrespect me in my home. Contrary to what I have been accused of, I would never beat my children.

Perhaps, I should have been a stronger disciplinarian as they were growing up. I worked very hard so that my children would want for nothing.

And a couple days later, Teddy explained his part in a video courtesy of TMZ or even a possible confession that he actually hit his daughters,

Hey Everyone,

I'm just finishing up my second last semester at school and been busy this past week, sorry I haven't posted in a while.

But here it is! A new post!

Sex and the City 2 Spoilers

You can possibly tell from my subhead that I am a huge fan of Sex and the City!

The filming of the second movie is underway and a whole bunch of spoilers have emerged everywhere from blogs to newspapers to fashion magazines.

I love love love spoilers, therefore I have decided to share them all with you. Enjoy!

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!

Stanford and Anthony (rivals all throughout the show) are trying to tie the knot with Liza Minnelli as there entertainment. But there are pictures of Samantha in a wedding dress as well, could there be a double wedding in the sequel?

Due to the recession, Big (John) loses a lot of money and takes a job in London. He gets lonely and hits a low in London and goes back to his womanizing ways and sleeps with another woman. Right after Carrie leaves him, she discovers she is pregnant with his baby.

There is going to be flashback scenes which take the girls to their days in the 1980s where Carrie Bradshaw showcases her inner Madonna with her elaborate outfits.

Other than New York City, the women will be filming in exotic Morocco and London, England.

Samantha Jones’ will have trouble paying for all her luxuries after some of her investments are in a slump and she has to figure out how to budget her life.

As Samantha is the oldest out of the bunch, she hates facing her actual aging body; therefore she starts to take anti-menopause diet pills to stop her from menopausing.

Smith Jerrod (James Lewis) DOES appear in the Sex and the City sequel dispite Smith and Samantha’s break up in the first movie.

Penelope Cruz, Katie Holmes, Miley Cyrus, and Bette Midler will all have a guest appearance in the movie.

There will be less wardrobe changes in the second movie than the first movie.

According to Intouch Weekly:

Carrie and Big could be headed for yet ANOTHER split when they become victims of the recession, losing so much cash that they have to move in with Charlotte and Harry! All ends well, though, with Big traveling to the Middle East for business and ultimately recovers their fortune.

Samantha believes her cancer has resurfaced and she goes back to Smith Jerrod realizing that she's still in love with him.

Miranda makes a huge life-change leaving her career as an attorney once she is sued for malpractice. Instead she and husband Steve open a restaurant together.

As for Charlotte and Harry, their marriage hits a rough patch after Charlotte suspects Harry of cheating and moves out of their Park Avenue digs! That doesn't turn out to be the case since Harry is actually sneaking around with the contractor building Charlotte's dream home as a surprise!

We basically get the gist of the whole plot so now all we really need is our movie that is set to be released in May 2010, that’s only 6 months and some day. I can’t wait, I’m so excited!

I find it funny how Twitter, a social networking site, beat out the first African-American President in the United States and the 2009 flu pandemic lol.

What am I exactly? A Twi-Hard!

Lol.

So I went to see the second "Twilight" movie last night, New Moon, with a theatre full of screaming teenagers and the girl behind me in line even brought the book with her to the screening (ya, I don't know either).

For those of you who don't know what this movie is about, Here is a brief plot summary courtesy of imdb.com:

After Bella recovers from the vampire attack that almost claimed her life, she looks to celebrate her birthday with Edward and his family. However, a minor accident during the festivities results in Bella's blood being shed, a sight that proves too intense for the Cullens, who decide to leave the town of Forks, Washington for Bella and Edward's sake. Initially heartbroken, Bella finds a form of comfort in reckless living, as well as an even-closer friendship with Jacob Black. Danger in different forms awaits.

So what did I think of the movie? Pretty good.

I know the movies will never compare to the books, but it does give you the visuals of it all.

The acting got a teeny bit better especially from Kristen Stewart, who is a really good runner and screamer, since that is what she mostly did in the movie. Robert Pattinson and the rest of the cast were amazing, especially Billy Burke, who plays Bella's dad. He was really good at providing humour in the movie and his awkward sense of humour gave the audience a good laugh. There were really cheesy and laughable parts in the movie, due in part, to the bad acting and just how the characters don't fit in with certain scenes (don't worry, I'm not going to kill it).

So what was the best part(s) in the movie: Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) and his lack of clothing (CLICK HERE to see what I'm talking about). For the majority of the movie, he is shirtless along with his pack of werewolves (who are also not that bad to look at) which made the movie that much greater.

This movie after all focuses on the story of Jacob and Bella since Edward leaves her in the beginning.

So if you like movies with shirtless men (well in the case of Jacob, boys) then this movie is for you! ha!

So as of right now, I'm Team Jacob. Not because he was shirtless throughout the movie, but because his character is more lovable than Robert Pattinson's character Edward (hey, I'll probably change my mind when Eclipse comes out, which is my favorite book out of the four).

What else did I like? The action scene in Italy was pretty cool and Dakota Fanning also appeared in the movie and I thought she made a very good vampire. Oh and she's totally not a kid anymore since the last movie I seen her in was I am Sam.

Anyways, the November 20th opening made the film the highest grossing single day sales ever, racking in $72.7 million at the box office. (Not surprised at all).

According to Perezhilton.com, New Moon is expected to pull in $125 million this weekend which will place the movie at #4 on the list of the top-grossing opening weekend films. New Moon falls short behind The Dark Knight at number 1 with 158.4 million, Spider-Man 3 at number 2 with $151 million, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest at number 3 with 135.6 million.

I'm just glad I somewhat helped with the success of the film by watching it this weekend! (lol, ya right)

Sky high ratings for Miss O!

On Monday November 16, former Vice-President candidate Sarah Palin was interviewed on the The Oprah Winfrey Show and was a complete hit!

She racked in the highest ratings for the queen of talk in two years, even beating out Oprah's interview with Whitney Houston.

According to thefeed .com,

“Monday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" drew a 8.7 household rating and 13 share -- the best since Winfrey had the entire Osmond family on the show in 2007.

That means Palin also topped Winfrey's heavily viewed interviews with Whitney Houston at the start of the season.”

Palin is currently on a book tour promoting her new book, “Going Rogue,” that came out on Tuesday.

During her one hour interview, she talked about her book (obvious), her Katie Couric interview (which you can tell she was completely embarrassed about), her marriage with Todd and her $35 wedding bans, and of course her daughter’s baby daddy, Levi Johnston and his new pictorial for Playgirl and says, “I call that porn,” in regards to Johnston’s magazine shoot and heard he goes by the name “Ricky Hollywood.”

Palin even invited Johnston to Thanksgiving dinner at the Palin house where Johnston, in an interview with another source, said, it was “a nice gesture, but she didn’t mean it.”

Oprah and Palin also discussed why Winfrey decided not to interview her during the 2008 presidential campaign because of Winfrey support for Barack Obama.

Oprah asked Palin whether or not she felt offended and snubbed over not being on the show during the presidential campaign and Palin responded and said, “No Offense to you, but it wasn’t the center of my universe.”

So I was reading through various blogs today and came across one really interesting and hilarious topic (well in my opinion it was lol funny).

What topic exactly am I talking about?

Its the queen of talk show, Ms. Oprah Winfrey being a Cheap-o-supreme-o when tipping at restaurants and only giving 10% when she goes out to eat.

As PR Junkie put it, Oprah, WTF?

According to PR Junkie,

Apparently, a couple months ago Oprah told her viewers they can tip their waiters just 10 percent, due to the lousy economy. Right now the Facebook group has 52,000 members. Here’s what one server in the group had to say about the incident:

I am a mother of two young girls whose husband has been out of work since January! Since Oprah opened her big fat mouth the money at my work has been horrible! How dare her tell people such a thing! I hope she is happy that my girls won't have the Christmas they deserve thanks to her stupid comments and all the stupid PEONS that listen to her!!!!

Tipping in the States is very different from tipping in Canada, or at least Winnipeg. It seems like when I'm travelling down south, tipping can not be less than 15% on any amount on your bill or that would just be seen as rude. While here in the city of Winnipeg, I usually tip between 10% to 15%, that i think is the regular for my city, well unless I'm just cheap, but then again, I am from Winnipeg, the place where everyone likes to look for deals, including myself :P

Anyways back to my topic, it seems like Oprah has pissed off some people ( or at least the 52,932 people on the Facebook group called "1 Million Servers Strong Against Oprah's Comments"), that may include some of her fans.

Here are a couple comments posted on the Facebook page:

"Is she fuckin kidding me 10 percent I wont even give customers ice cubes if they start pulling that shit. We bust our assess and handle all of our business with those tips she should probably wait tables a day and then she would understand."

"shes a douchedbag she don't even know how to work hard. Just shut up oprah."

"It is obvious that Oprah has never worked for tips. Servers are not guarantee a living wage in Missouri. It is easy for the very rich to take from the struggling folks, no skin off her nose. 10% was not a good tip 15 years ago what is she thinking, whoops shes not! I say we request she spend a few days waiting tables, then lets hear her tune!"

"A woman with all the G*d damn money would want to act like she has some class!!! I mean,really????10%??? Oh yeah my hourly wage should make up for your half ass tip rite? NO! Because good ol Uncle Sam wants his cut of my $5 a hour!! Jeez America! Let's not forget that we have bills,families,children,and we need to make a living just like everyone else! If you intend on saving money_ take the $30 you plan on spending on your meal and go to the grocery store & cook your own meal. Spare me the aggrevation n leave my table open for the next party!"

OUCH! Some hurtful words for the divine Ms. O.

She sure should address this issue on her show or at least her magazine if she doesn't want the 52,932 servers to be spitting in her food anytime soon.

Really Oprah, 20% of your next restaurant bill is probably chump change compared to the billions you have in the bank!

Not that the movie needs it, but.....

The second installment of the Twilight Saga, New Moon, is only a couple weeks away and it seems like I have seen the whole movie already with the amount of “previews” that have been released by Summit over the last couple of months.

But I am certain that won’t hurt all the Twilight fanatics from going to see movie once it comes out Friday, November 20, 2009.

Not that this movie needs anymore publicity since it is going to be a given hit (I’m going to watch it at least twice, yes, I am one of those Twilight obsessed people), but I have a few ideas of what would get their movie more buzz. This includes:

· Since Rachelle Lefevre was fired and replaced by Bryce Dallas Howards for the character of Victoria, it was rumored that she would not be attending the premier. But to much speculations, Lefever will be attending the premiere of the movie she was fired from, and is actually very excited to see the movie and is excited to see all her former cast mates. I just think, wouldn’t it be great if she was there and just bashed Summit Entertainment (the studio in charge of the whole saga) in a couple of interviews during the premiere? How hilarious would that be, but she is probably super nice and wouldn't do that :(.

· Wouldn’t it be awesome if Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart FINALLY went public with their off-screen romance at the premiere of the movie? Now that would be the ultimate publicity stunt to boost movie ratings. Do you guys agree? Well at least I think so.

Movie comes out Friday, November 20, 2009 at theatre near you. For those of you in Winnipeg, see you there!

Hmm..in Letterman's case, sex does sell!

A lot of bad things could have happened to David Letterman's career after his sex scandal broke out, however that really isn't the case for him.

It just seems like his American viewers are still loyal to him despite his wrong doings. He may have even gained more viewers after his little sex scandal (Oh America, how you loves a scandal).

Letterman's ratings are still steady and solid with 4.4 million viewers per night and remains to be the number one late night show out there. Viewership for The Late Show has even increased by 10% compared to last year.

Whether people like him or not, they still continue tuning in, maybe in hopes for another scandal!

Chuck E. Cheese, the not so friendly restaurant!

For me, Chuck E. Cheese was a place “Where a kid can be a kid!”, one of their official motto's.

Remembering the days of life-sized animals coming out of their cages and walking and strolling around the restaurant and playing’ with little kids.

The days when you would able to enjoy your pizza with your family and friends and you were the coolest kids on the block because you would be have your 7^Th birthday there and no other kid in your class could compare.

The days where our parents would show how much they loved us by fishing us out of the ball pen where it smelled like hardcore pee.

Well….

I would have to say the kids today are not having the same fond memories as I used too.

Lately, Chuck E. Cheese has been in a not so “kid friendly” environment after what’s been going down in their restaurants this past year.

Let me give you a rundown of the events that have been going on at Chuck E. Cheese:

1) In Susquehanna Township, Pennsylvania that cops were called to the restaurant a whopping 12 times in the past year. These calls have been due to disorderly conduct, assault, and theft, which lead to 13 arrests where one person was a juvenile. The year before that the police made 18 visits to the restaurant.

One reason the police were called to the restaurant was after a man asked two women to keep the obscenities at a minimum around the kiddies. A 36-year-old and a 17-year-old were arguing with the man in front of the kids where they proceeded to throw their drinks at him, punched him and struck a manager in the face when he tried to step in the confrontation, all according to the police.

According to a witness, "We were standing there and machines almost got knocked over. The one waitress, she went in and said three guys were coming at her."

What did Chuck E. Cheese have to say about this? Well they said, “"Chuck E. Cheese is proud to offer a safe and fun family experience to many people in this area."

Ya, right?

2) In Wilmington, North Carolina a 35-year-old man by the name of Oliver Shawndell Bragg was arrested for robbing a local Chuck E. Cheese at gunpoint! (What?! Who robs a Chuck E. Cheese)

He never actually showed the gun, but threatened the Chuck E. Cheese clerk that if she didn’t turn over the dough, she’ll shoot her. (Probably with her fake gun).

He got his dough and sped off on his bike.

Wow he must have super dumb to think no would catch him on his wheels.

Surveillance video of what happened was broadcasted on local stations and one person who immediately recognized him called police right away.

3) A 3-year-old girl was left alone at a Chuck E. Cheese in Maryland.

Who in their right might forgets a child?

The little girl was found alone at the restaurant around 7:00 p.m. where she said she came to the restaurant earlier that day with her Uncle Damon.

Other occurrences have been 4-year-olds have been assaulted, booze has been sold to minors, children have been hit by chairs, and employees have been robbed at gunpoint and someone even died.

And yes! This has all happened at Chuck E. Cheese locations across the U.S.

What is wrong with this restaurant?

Chuck E. Cheese better have a hell of a good PR group to get them out of this mess!

Joe Jackson takin' advantage of his son's death, AGAIN!

Joe Jackson is estimated to make $250,000 by introducing screenings for the upcoming film This Is It, the Michael Jackson film.

He will be doing this at select screenings in England where he will also be telling stories about his son.

I'm sorry, but this man doesn't have a heart to care about anything else other than cashing in the big bucks.

I do not know what goes on in his mind, but I know that any opportunity he can find to make some cash, even the death of his own son, makes him a totally lame excuse for a human being and especially a father.

He should be ashamed!

Lohan called "an embarrassment"

Lindsay Lohan was hired last month by fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro to be his artistic advisor.

However, Lohan has been dubbed "an embarrassment" at the new Emanuel Ungaro collection show this past weekend.

Along with head designer Estrella Archs, Lohan has spent the last couple weeks putting a line together for the show that debuted on Sunday, Oct 4 during Paris fashion week.

She shed tears of emotion as she walked down the runway and admitted it was "the hardest thing I’ve ever done."

U.S. fashion reviewers were fast to critic the show, The New York Times said, dresses that appeared to be painted on left "several people in the audience aghast." While a Women's Wear Daily reporter suggested that Lohan should go back to her acting roots and being young and pretty isn't enough to be in the fashion industry.

Wow, some hurtful words.

Kaboom! Another bomb dropped on SNL

Just a week ago, newbie Jenny Slate dropped the F-Bomb on air, this week, Lady Gaga let the S-Bomb explode on stage.

However, there's a catch.

NBC nor SNL will have to pay the FCC for the bomb drop because it occurred during a "safe harbour" period which, according to the FCC means, "Indecent or profane speech that is broadcast between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. is not actionable."

Phew!

I think there should be a book about the seven profane words NOT ALLOWED to be said on air, before guests, actors, and singers actually go on-air, just sayin'.

After a class discussion came up yesterday in my PR class, we wondered why David Letterman never publicly apologized to his wife?

Well on his show last night, he finally did.

With a more serious tone and stance regarding the situation, Letterman said he has hurt his wife "horribly." He continued by saying, ""If you hurt a person, and it's your responsibility, you try to fix it ... so let me tell you folks, I have my work cut out for me."

He also apologized to his staff for all the attention they are receiving from the journalists, TV personalities, and the media about this situation and says he is not having sex with anyone in his staff now and its a situation of the past.

Oh Dave, hopefully this will soon blow over.

On The Jay Leno Show:

"If you came here tonight for sex with a talk show host, you've got the wrong studio,"

"What is going on? First Conan hit his head, and then somebody tries to extort money from Letterman. I'm so glad I'm out of late night."

On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:

"There's a new book out called "Why Women Have Sex" that says there are 237 reasons why women have sex. And folks, Letterman knows the top 10."

Let's see how long these late night roasts last for.

Last month I blogged about the cast of Vampire Diaries and their little shinanigans that went down in Georgia (CLICK HERE for a recap). Well now a spokesperson for the cast says, "It's over" and the cast's names have all been cleared.

No one from the cast showed up for their day in court, therefore forfeit the money from their bond which they had previously paid for bail.

I guess with all that money, Monroe County Jail decided not to press on with the charges.

And hey, the show is still doing pretty well for itself.

Letterman blackmailed over affair, comes clean.

After his opening monologue on Thursday's Late Night with David Letterman, Letterman openly admitted having affairs with female employees that work for him and that someone is extorting him over the affairs.

He explained with a bit of seriousness and humour that about three weeks ago he received a package in the mail that threatened and said if he doesn't pay him $2 million he will have all his affairs made public.

Letterman explained how he went straight to is attorney about the case and they immediately arranged a meeting with the individual who has threatened to extort him, who we now know to be Robert J. Halderman, a producer for the show "48 Hours" also on CBS. At the meeting, Halderman reiterated his intentions of revealing the information as well as he was going to write a book about Letterman's affairs. Letterman said that he gave Halderman a "phony" $2 million cheque to keep his mouth shut and later said Halderman has been arrested after a warrent was issued.

That Thursday morning, Letterman went before a grand jury on the issue and said that it was something he had never thought he would be doing in his life and while being there his acknowledged his sexual relationships with female co-workers at the show.

Letterman said, "Yes i have. Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would. I feel like i need to protect these people. i need to certainly protect my family."

According to the Associated Press, Halderman has been charged with attempted grand larceny after allegedly giving the "Late Show" host an ultimatum to pay him $2 million or else he were to have the affairs made public.

CBS issued a statement on Friday in regards to the issue:

"CBS was made aware of an ongoing police investigation involving David Letterman and an employee at '48 Hours' who was subsequently arrested yesterday on charges of attempted grand larceny in the first degree," a rep for the network tells ET. "CBS is cooperating fully with the authorities and the employee has been suspended pending the results of the investigation. Mr. Letterman addressed the issue during the show's broadcast last night, and we believe his comments speak for themselves."

Letterman never reveals who these female co-workers are, but some suspect one of them could have been his former assistant Stephanie Berkitt who actually used to work with Halderman on the show "48 Hours" and had dated and lived with him.

Halderman pleaded NOT guilty to the allegations that he tried to extort money from Letterman. He has since posted bail at a $200,000 bond.

Letterman turns the tables on Halderman and admits to the allegations of the affair, he was the first to get the information out and he took hold of the situation, which calls for some good PR, I would say.

On Yesterdays episode of So You Think You Can Dance, contestant #22036 exposed a lot more than her dance talent.

After falling on stage, over a million viewers got a very very revealing peak underneath #22036's dress.

Apparently she forgot something before heading on stage for her audition, HER UNDERWEAR!

So I'm guess the people at FOX weren't paying close attention before this went on air.

Judge and Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe told TMZ: "None of us knew she did this. The show was always designed to expose talent, but not in this way."

Haha, oh great response Mr. Lythgoe.

Screeechin' out!

Dustin Diamond is revealing decade old drama that happened while being on the 90s hit show, Saved by the Bell.

Diamond claims that co-star Mario Lopez date raped a show extra back in 1993, but TV executives at NBC paid her $50,000 to keep her mouth shut.

In Diamonds memoir, Behind the Bell, he claims Lopez used his fame as advances to get to female fans and never took no for an answer.

He writes, "(Lopez) hit on ever co-star, every extra, every production assistant and every fan he found himself sitting next to."

Both NBC and Lopez refused to comment on Diamond's claims.

Saturday Night Live newbie Jenny Slate may already be in hot water after the little F-bomb she dropped in a skit on yesterday season premiere.

The skit featured host Megan Fox as well as Kristen Wiig where both played biker chicks along with Slate. It was obvious the line should have been "I fricken love you for that", but rather the F-word came out of Slate's mouth instead..Woops!

As Fox was saying her thank yous and closing out the show, you could see Seth Meyers giving Slate a hug, probably hoping that she won't get fired after her first show.

Kramer's going to Curb your Enthusiasm

It's been three years since Michael Richards dropped the N-Bomb at the Laugh Factory and now he is ready for his comeback appearance.

He will be appearing in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm with some former Seinfeld cast mates such as Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Jason Alexander.

Richards also graces the cover of Entertainment Weekly this month.

This could be a good turn around in his career, since its been in the slumps for the past three.

No more racist comments from you Kramer and you'll do fine!

On Wednesday, Chris Brown started his 180-days of community service in his hometown of Virginia.

Six cast members of The Vampire Diaries, a new show that premiered on CTV Thursday, Sept 17, are already in trouble with the law!

Nina Dobreva, Candice Accola, Kayla Ewell, Krystal Vayda, Sara Canning, and Tyler Schields were booked for disorderly conduct after being a part of a irregular photo shoot in Georgia.

Several motorists called 9-1-1 claiming women were danger and other bystanders claimed that these women were flashing motorists off the I-75 bridge in Smarr, Georgia.

They were all released the same day they were detained after paying a $1,000 bond.

They're lucky there show doesn't suck so far...

But you have to wonder if this will be good for there show or will it bite them in the neck (haha get it!). I guess we all have to tune in next week and see how there show does.

President Obama: "He's a Jackass"

Right before going on-air to tape an interview with CNBC. A reporter asked President Obama what he thought of the whole Kanye incident that went down Sunday night at the VMA's. He said he thought it was inappropriate and referred to Kanye West as a "jackass."

Yes, even the President thinks the Louis Vuitton Don was wrong to pull such a stunt. But hey, the president is only human and he is allowed to have an opinion. He even joked at the end of the audio clip, thinking his "jackass" comments may possibly erupt in the media like the time he killed a fly and got in trouble by PETA.

UPDATE: After Tayor Swift appeared on the View this morning, she told the ladies of the show, he has not called her and made an apology. After the taping of the show, Kanye personally called the country songstress and apologized for his actions!

Kanye West has definitely put himself in a hot seat. Artist who attended last night's VMAs took to their twitters and united in bashing the Louis Vuitton Don.

Since the incident last night, Kanye has posted two apologies to Taylor Swift. The first one was up only for a couple of hours last night, but was mysteriously taken down and his blog page was inaccessible. The second one was issued today and had a Ben Stiller "Focker" reference to describe his emotions.

I feel like Ben Stiller in "Meet the Parents" when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave... That was Taylor's moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry.

Maybe Kanye needs to shut his mouth for the time being and let this whole incident blow over!

Oh my gosh, KANYE WEST!

Kanye West jumped on stage when Taylor Swift accepted her award for best music video and totally took away Taylor's shining moment. He protested that Beyonce should have won that award and she had the best music video! Big D-bag move, Kanye!

But true to form, Kanye is putting himself in the spotlight again for all the wrong reasons. Lets see how he is going to get out of this slump.

But for the meantime, let me take you back to another awkward moment for another actor, all because, yes you guessed it, Kanye West.

Actions speak louder than tweets!

So everyone knows what happened between Rihanna and Chris Brown earlier this year.

If you don't, let me briefly refresh your mind: They went to a party, drove home together, Rihanna got a text from a friend, Chris stopped the car and demanded to see who that text was from, when she refused, he got angry. They got into a heated argument and he allegedly beat her. He has then been charged with domestic violence and was sentenced to five years probation, 180 of community labour and must enter a 52-week domestic violence counseling program.

Not fair in my opinion!

Anyways, to divert attention from this situation, Chris Brown has released photos of his newly renovated digs in his hometown of Virginia, showing the teenager in him.

I think this a whole publicity act from Chris Brown's PR camp, he posts these pictures up on his Twitter page to show, hey, I'm still a kid, REMEMBER!

He is totally putting up a front showing the 19-year-old kid in him and finding ways to make the public forget all his wrong doings.

In my opinion, it is hard to forget someone who beats up there 20-year-old girlfriend and is publicly humiliated by it, especially when he fled to Virginia right after it happened and didn't address the issue for a whole two months.

It's hard to cover up your wrong doings Chris, looking like a kid again can't cover up your past actions. Sorry!

This blog will be dedicated to PR issues in the world of entertainment and entertainment in general. As a PR student in the Creative Communications program, I revolve myself around PR and PR related issues. From the world of ChrisD.ca to Perez Hilton, I must say, I am a fan of any kind of entertainment news, whether it is local or international, any entertainment is good entertainment.

So since I love the world of entertainment, I have decided to put two things I am passionate about together and start writing about PR entertainment. Taada :)
